ALPHA66 · 2/3-SCALE AR500 STEEL
Hear the alpha.
The Alpha66 puts the A-zone on its own tuned steel plate. Hit it and it rings with its own voice. Hit the body and you get a plain steel clang. Call every shot by ear, at full speed, without walking downrange.

Illustrative sound preview, not a recording. Real steel rings richer.
Two plates. Two tones.
Most steel tells you that you hit it. The Alpha66 tells you where. The torso and the A-plate are separate pieces of steel, each with its own voice, so an alpha never sounds like a body hit.
A-ZONE HIT
A voice of its own
The A-zone rings with a tone you learn to pick out by ear.
B / C HIT
A plain steel clang
The torso rings like the steel you already know. Every hit is confirmed, not just the alphas.
Full-size practice in a short bay
At 2/3 scale, the Alpha66 at 10 yards looks the way a full-size target does at 15. Practical distances fit a backyard berm, a ranch bay or a club practice night.

Shoot steel safely
Stay at least 10 yards back with handguns. Everyone on the line wears eye and ear protection. Mount the target so it hangs 20° face-down, and never shoot from an angle that can return fragments to the line. Retire any plate that is cratered or pitted.
FAQ
Can I tell the tones apart with ear pro on?
That is the point of the design. The A-plate is tuned to ring differently from the torso, so an alpha stands apart from a body hit.
What do I need to set it up?
A 2x4 post in a stand or the ground. Everything else is in the box.
Can I shoot it with a rifle?
The Alpha66 is rated for centerfire handguns only. Magnum loads, steel-core ammunition and rifles will damage it.
Why is it bare steel?
You will repaint it every session anyway. Leaving off the powder coat keeps the price down. Surface rust is normal and does not hurt the steel.
